All you need to know about ‘U’ waves

A U wave is a small, rounded wave that follows the T wave on an electrocardiogram. Normally its polarity is that of the T wave. Its mechanism is unknown. The U wave becomes taller in hypokalaemia and inverted in heart disease. It may signify decreased potassium levels in the blood. Read more about U waves here.
